Values Formation within the Family as an Antecedent of Civic Participation

Values formation during childhood is crucial in the development of children which serves as basis their behavior and actions outside family later life. 131 volunteers UPLB Ugnayan ng Pahinungód were selected sample this study to understand how values translates civic participation. Using explanatory sequential design, research gathered data two phases. Quantitative phase used Volunteer Functions Inventory (VFI) determine motivations respondents volunteer while Scales Parenting Styles (SPS) assessed parenting styles respondents’ parents. Data was analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis. Six participants chosen for qualitative cases thematic Results highlighted importance learning practice associated Parents played important roles models desired behaviors socializing agents through practices well extended childcare. Modeling socialization contributed positive development.
